John (father) and Stan (son) Little were members of the Salinas Ramblers back in the 1970's and early 1980's.  They helped pioneer the development of Portaguese Flats and worked on many of the early camp infrastructure projects, especially the water system.

John recently wrote: Well I don’t really remember details about those days anymore but my Dad and I helped you cut many new single track trails, some of the hardest work I have ever done!!   And of course the miles and miles of riding with backpack’s with stick’s and staple gun’s and ribbon to mark trails, most times in snow or rain and we would have to mark some over and over. I know you know what I mean!  I think these were some of the best days of my life!

I also was the district 36 Enduro B champ for 1979 or 80 damn I don’t remember that ether!
